Wood Rose Hamburger Box

A couple of weeks back, I showed a project I made with the Hamburger Box die on The Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop.  Today I have another one for you:

Colors: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Coral Calypso, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Pear Pizzazz.  Stamps: Hardwood and Perfect Pennants.  Big Shot: Hamburger Box Bigz XL and Spiral Flower Originals. Punch: Fun Flower.  Accessories: Tea Lace Doilies, Coral Calypso Seam Binding Ribbon.
I haven't had a chance to use the Spiral Cut Flower die in the past few months.  Here I cut two of them out: one out of Coral Calypso and one out of Crisp Cantaloupe.  Then I wound them up together (after breaking up the paper fibers with a bone folder) to make a single rose monochromatic rose.  it was still missing something, so I added some leaves by punching just a section of the Fun Flower punch.

This is just one of the projects being offered at my August Stampin' Buffet.  It would be perfect to fill with a little treat for your child's teacher for Back to School or really, it works for so many occasions.  Sign up to come to my class today!

This is also a great time to mention that starting on Friday, August 1, Stampin' Up! is offering a special on the Big Shot. If you purchase one during the month of August, you can choose from one of 5 different stamp set/framelit bundles absolutely free! And if you already own a Big Shot, you can still purchase the bundles (not offered in the current catalog) at a 15% savings.   I will have more details on this offer next week.

July Paper Pumpkin Kit and Promotion

I've been a little more MIA than I'd care to admit lately.  It seems to coincide with exactly when my younger son got out for the summer. (He's on year round so he went all the way until July 3 this year).  He is very high maintenance (must take after someone else in the family).  I also went to Stampin' Up's Convention and came back with lots of great ideas.  But now I am just rambling.  I really do have something important to share with you today.

It's been a couple of months since I posted about Paper Pumpkin.  But July's kit is SOOOO cute!  In the little orange box that arrived in my mailbox was all the parts and pieces to make six cards and six cute little gift boxes.  I am saving some of the parts and pieces for my next class, but here are the samples I made:

All paper, stamps and accessories from the July 2014 Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Here's a closer look at each:

Isn't this kit fabulous? For the first time, I will be offering a Paper Pumpkin Sampler at my August Stampin' Buffet.  You will be able to make a card and a box from this months kit for $3.  But supplies are limited so if you want to make one or two, you will need to RSVP quickly!

Also right now, Stampin' Up! is offering a sweet deal: 50% off the first two months of kits for new subscribers.  Just visit the Paper Pumpkin Website and use the promo code: HALFOFF2.  This offer is good until September 10, but trust me, you will want to do it before August 10. We got a sneak peek at August and September kits at convention and they are spectacular.  And if you like Halloween, then you will really not want to miss out on the August kit. And once you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin, you will be able to go back and purchase previous kits that you've been missing out on all this time. What are you waiting for?  Go do it!

Stampin' Addicts Blog Hop: Designer Series Paper

http://www.stampinaddicts.com/forums/general-stampin-talk/9527-designer-series-paper-blog-hop.html
Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts Blog Hop!  Today we are focusing on the beautiful Designer Series Paper that is in the new catalog.  During the month of July, all regular Designer Series Papers are buy three get one free!  This is a great deal!  If you are hoping in order, you've arrived from Cindy's Heart's Delight Cards and her wonderful projects with Park Lane Designer Series Paper.  If this is your first stop, everything is linked in a circle so you won't miss a thing. If you get lost along the way, head on over to Stampin' Addicts to see a full list of hop stops.

My projects use the Back to Black Designer Series Paper.  Who doesn't love black and white paper?  Here is a look at the entire pack:

And here are the two cards I made with it:

Colors: Bermuda Bay, Whisper White and Basic Black.  Stamps: Lots of Thanks.  Accessories: Back to Black Designer Series Paper, and Brights Candy Dots.

Colors: Pool Party, Basic Black, and Whisper White.  Stamps: Friends Who Know.  Big Shot: Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and Labels Collection Framelits.  Accessories: Pool Party 1/4" Cotton Ribbon, Dazzling Details.
As you can tell, the prints and patterns in this pack are prefect to use together or on their own.  (And yes, they do go with more than blue tones, but I am on a blue kick right now).  I have another project I made with this paper that will be featured on the next The Stamp Review Crew Hop on July 21.  Be sure to come back and check it out then.

Now you are on to the next stop: Betty's Kitty Stamp Blog and her look at The Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Happy hopping and have a great day!

May Paper Pumpkin Kit

I was so excited to get May's Paper Pumpkin Kit.  I don't know exactly why other than I actually had time to sit down and put it together.  So what came in the kit?  All the stamps, inks, embellishments, papers and sticky die cuts to make four standard 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" cards and two 3"x 3" cards, including envelopes.

First, I made one of each card according to the directions that came with the supplies:

All items May Paper Pumpkin Kit.
Next I took the supplies and made my own cards with all the parts and pieces:

All items May Paper Pumpkin Kit

All items May Paper Pumpkin Kit

All items May Paper Pumpkin Kit

All items May Paper Pumpkin Kit

Stampin' Up! Just keeps improving Paper Pumpkin.  Starting this month, all new Paper Pumpkin Subscribers will get the current month's kit with their free clear block (instead of the starter kit that new subscribers used to receive).   You can also prepay your subscription to Paper Pumpkin on any workshop or customer order so that it counts towards hostess benefits.  When you prepay 6 or 12 months, you even save $1-2 off each kit.   And if you are the hostess, you can even use one of your 50% off items to prepay up to one year of your subscription.

Another new perk for subscribers, you can purchase some old kits or refills for the kits so if you missed one you really wanted or want more of the consumables for a kit you have already received, you can now do it!

But the best thing: for the next two days, new subscribers can get the June kit 50% off.  Just use the promo code: SHELLIDEAL when you sign up. Now if you are ready to subscribe, head on over to the My Paper Pumpkin website to sign yourself up!

Last Day for Valentines Products

Today is the last day you can order items from the A Whole Lot of Love Promotion.  My favorite thing in the promotion are these cute little treat bags:
Colors: Real Red, Pool Party, Primrose Petal and Whisper White.  Stamps: Tags 4 You.  Punch: Label Bracket.  Accessories: Sweetheart Treat Bags Kit, Primrose Petal Stitched Ribbon.
The Sweetheart Treat Bags Kit comes with 12 bags, Pool Party Baker's Twine and the little pool party stripped banner piece.  Fill them with a cookie or candy and you are ready to go for a quick and easy Valentines Treat. Or you can make them a little fancier:
Colors: : Real Red, Pool Party, Primrose Petal and Whisper White.  Stamps: Oh, Goodie! Big Shot: Bitty Banner Framelits, Punch: Petite Curly Label.  Accessories: Sweetheart Treat Bags Kit, clothes pin from the Tag a Bag Accessories.
Here I turned it into a gusseted bag by simply trimming a little bit off the bottom and scoring 3/4" from each side and the bottom.  Then you fold along the score lines, fold and adhere the bottom together, and fold and pinch the sides so that the original fold on the bag goes towards the center of the bag.  Takes a little more time than using the bag as it comes, but it's a great solution if your Valentines treats are a little bulkier.

You can make either or both of these cute treat holders at my Lots of Love Stampin' Buffet coming up this weekend.  Just let me know by Wednesday how many of each you'd like.  Supplies are limited to what I have on hand.

You can order these bags or anything else from the A Whole Lot of Love Promotion through the end of the day today (except the sold out Follow My Heart Stamp Set). Go online to paula.stampinup.net to place your order or give me a call.

Join Stampin' Up! Now for Only $25

Have you ever even had the smallest interest or desire to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator?  Ever thought, I could do that?  Or, I  love the product and have a huge wish list, I bet I could save money if I signed up and bought from myself?

Now would be a great time to act on that thought.  In fact, I don't recall a better time to act.  In honor of Stampin' Up!'s 25th Anniversary, they are offering a $25 Starter Kit from today through October 21!!  Yep, for just $25 you get:
  • Up to $26.95 in product of your choice.  Choose anything from any catalog or even from the things not in the catalog (photopolymer stamps, envelope punch board, Best of 25 stamp sets, etc).  Your total needs to be more than $25 but less than $26.95 before tax.
  • Business Supplies including catalogs, order forms, and other items you'll need if you want to make this a business.
  • Two free months of Demonstrator Business Web Services.
Of course there is much, much more you get by becoming a demonstrator:
  • 30% instant income on your first order of $150 placed within the first  45 days of joining Stampin' Up!  Combine this with the current hostess special (extra $25 in hostess benefits for a $250 order) and you'll get an even greater value.  This can be a workshop order or a demonstrator order (for yourself)
  • Special Perk for those that sign up during this promotion: host your first $150 workshop in 30 days and you can pick any stamp set from the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog (redeemable with your first order in December). Combine this with the above offers for even more benefits!
  • 20% instant income off every order you place while you remain an active demonstrator
  • Most demonstrator orders also qualify for current Stampin' Up! promotions and always qualify for hostess benefits
  • Sneak peeks and special pre-order opportunities on up coming products and catalog releases
  • Access to Stampin' Connections, an online community just for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators to exchange project ideas and business tips
  • Stampin' Success, a magazine that comes every other month full of project and business information
I run my Stampin' Up! business the way that works best for me and you can too.  Demonstrators come in all shapes and sizes and all different levels of interest.  Many join just to buy for themselves at a fabulous discount.  Some like me, run a limited business to cover the cost of having lots of fabulous craft supplies.  Others help or fully support their family on the income they earn from Stampin' Up!

Worried about what kind of commitment you'll be making? Don't!  Stampin' Up! does not require anything from you once you sign up.  If you never place an order, you will not be penalized.  You can just keep your starter kit and enjoy the product.  If you decide you'd like to remain a demonstrator to take advantage for the ongoing benefits, you just need to sell or purchase enough to cover your quarterly minimums ($300) before the end of your first full quarter (in this case that would be March 2014).

If you want more information or are ready to sign up, visit my Demonstrator Website and click on "Join Now."  You'll see details on all the benefits and more information on the career plan there and see a copy of the Independent Demonstrator Agreement.  You can also call me and I can answer any questions you might have.  But don't let this offer pass you by!

August Paper Pumpkin: Last Chance for $10 Offer

I was so excited on Saturday to go to my mailbox and see this inside:

What is it, you say?  It's my monthly Paper Pumpkin subscription.  Or my creative escape, delivered right to my door.

And what was inside?
Everything to make 4 quick and easy (and cute, I might add) cards.  All I needed were scissors and adhesive and 20 minutes later I had these beauties:

August Paper Pumpkin

When I finished, I had an extra sticker, so I made this too:

Colors: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Raspberry Ripple, Baked Brown Sugar and Whisper White.  Stamps: August Paper Pumpkin Kit.  Accessories: Mini Brads
Sign up to have your own Paper Pumpkin delivered to your door.  Right now, your first two kits are only $10 (plus tax) when you use the code PUMPKINDEAL.  Shipping is included in that price to make it an even better deal!  I covered all the steps to do just that in this blog post: July Paper Pumpkin and $10 Offer.  The clear block that comes as a bonus in your first kit is worth $8.50.  That is one amazing deal right there!

And for my local customers, I will be hosting a Paper Pumpkin Night at my house the first Thursday of each month.  Bring your kit and we'll put it together and make one bonus card using the stamps and ink from your kit. But don't delay.  This fabulous deal ends August 31!  Sign up now: Paula's Paper Pumpkin

July's Paper Pumpkin and $10 Promotion

When July's Paper Pumpkin box arrived in my mailbox, this is what was inside:

July Paper Pumpkin Contents
I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but it's suppose to be a banner to go on a cake.  While that is a cute idea if you are into that kind of thing, I knew it was something that wasn't going to happen here.  So I took the pieces in the kit, added some card stock and rhinestone jewels  from my stash and came up with these:

12x12 Scrapbook Page  Colors: Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango and Whisper White.  Stamps and Accessories from the July Paper Pumpkin Kit (except Rhinestone Jewels).
CARD Colors: Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit, Tangerine Tango, Pool Party and Whisper White.  Stamps and Accessories from the July Paper Pumpkin Kit (except Rhinestone Jewels).
CARD Colors: Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit, Tangerine Tango, and Pool Party. Stamps and Accessories from the July Paper Pumpkin Kit (except Rhinestone Jewels).
One of the beauties of these kits is you can quickly put them together the way they are intended, or you can change it up and use the parts and pieces in new and different ways.  My goal is to show you at least one alternative way to assemble the kit each month.  I ended up a little behind with the July kit, but watch for the August kit and an alternative idea to be posted around the end of the month.

Don't forget, right now until the end of August, you can sign up for Paper Pumpkin for just $10 for the first two months. I have heard from others that the process is kind of confusing, so here is the step by step way to sign yourself up for your creative escape:
  • Visit My Paper Pumpkin online.  If you need more information, click on the "Learn more about me" on the bottom right side of the screen.
  • When you are ready to sign up, click on "Join" in the upper right corner.
  • Enter the quantity you would like to receive in the box.
  • Click on the PROMO CODE link and enter "PUMPKINDEAL"  Note that only one promo code can be applied per email address used to sign up for Paper Pumpkin.

If it's a PO BOX, than leave the PO off and just enter "Box" and your number.  Don't forget that Paper Pumpkin makes a wonderful gift so if you are sending this to a friend or family member, enter their address instead of yours on this page. Click Continue
  • Enter your billing information.  Don't forget to click the "Billing address is different than shipping address if you are giving this as a gift. Click Continue
  • You will be asked to create a password.  You will need to remember this so you can come back anytime and skip a month or cancel your
  • You should receive a confirmation email in just a few minutes.

Paper Pumpkin for only $10!

I have mentioned Paper Pumpkin on my blog before, but I have not devoted an entire post to it.  And what better time to do it than now, when you can sign up for this fabulous monthly craft escape for only $10 month for the first two months!  This offer is good for new subscribers only and after the first two months, if you decide to continue, the regular rate of $19.95 applies. But there is no obligation to continue either.

The first month you join Paper Pumpkin, you receive the "Hey There Try It Kit".  The kit includes everything you need to make four quick and simple cards that you will love to send to your friends.  I finally broke out my kit today and put it together.

Here's a look at the way the box looks when it arrives in your mailbox:

Isn't that box adorable?

Inside your box, this is what you'll find:

I love that little "Run away with me" on the box.  Really, this is a creative escape!  And when you unpack it, this is what you find inside:

It only took me about 5 minutes to turn those pieces into this:
Now I could have just made all four cards look like that same one, but I decided to change them up just a bit and this is what I came up with:

Just simple modifications of the first card.  These would make a great gift to package up all together as well.

All the kits that have come out so far have been just fabulous!  July's kit was small banner kit that you can put on a cake or in a centerpiece for a party. I am hoping to turn it into a scrapbook page to show you soon.

So what are you waiting for?  Sign up today and take advantage of this great $10 offer.  If you sign up before August 10, you will receive this starter kit in the middle of next month.  If you wait until after August 10, then you will receive it in September. You can cancel or skip a month any time.  So head on over to My Paper Pumpkin and sign up today!

Last Chance for the Grab Your Greeting Promotion

June is rapidly coming to an end.  And that means the end of the Grab Your Greeting Promotion.  Three of the most popular greeting stamp sets are 25% off through June 30.  Here is a quick card featuring the Sassy Salutations set:

Colors: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, So Saffron and Crisp Cantaloupe.  Stamps: Sassy Salutations.  Big Shot: Blossom Party Originals, Oval Framelit Collection, and Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Accessories: Note Cards, Large Rhinestone Jewels, Occasions Paper Piercing Pack.
This card features two of our new In Colors: Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe.  These colors make such a fresh combination, but they always make me want ice cream. I also used the Note Cards that Stampin' Up! sells as a base for this card.  Did you know that Stampin' Up! revamped these for the new catalog and they now feature a thicker card stock for layering and embellishing?  Still a great value at $5.95 for 20 cards and envelopes.

But remember, only 2 more days to take advantage of the Grab Your Greeting promotion.  Click the Shop Now icon and get yours before it's two late!

Latest News and Stampin' Up! Promotions

The launch of the brand new 2013-2014 Stampin' Up! Catalog also means there is a slew of news to share with you.  Buckle up and get ready to love new products and new promotions that will make you smile.

NEW 2013-2014 CATALOG:  I have gushed over the catalog plenty.  There is so much to love in it.  Here are a few observations I have made:
  • The stamps sets are amazing.  And I have noticed something about them: the vast majority are under $20 for the clear mount version.  That means you (and I) can buy even more stamp sets!
  • The layout is clean and beautiful.  The project pictures are bigger and many pages offer tips on ways to use the products featured.
  • Bundles!!  I counted seven bundles in the new book that feature new stamps with coordinating framelits, punches or embossing folders.  When you buy them together, you save 15%.  There isn't one of these that isn't on my wish list! (If you have the book in front of you, they are on pages 12, 32, 83, 95, 113, 123, & 125).
  • New Color Families.  I wasn't so sure about these at first, but as I've had a chance to play with them the past week or so, I have come to love them!  There are new Color Family Designer Paper Stacks with fabulous new prints in them.  Also, Candy Dots to replace brads (no more holes to punch) and they come in every color in the family.  And to help you update your color families, Stampin' Up! is offering a New Color Kit for the markers that includes the 10 new markers and an updated insert to put in your case.
  • New Accessories.  I already mentioned the Candy Dots, but not the brad bases to stick them in if you still love that option.  More washi tape, new buttons, chevron ribbon, Simply Pressed Clay and so much more to love!
  • And my single most favorite item in the new catalog: the magnetic platform for the Big Shot!  No more taping framelits down!  Now when you stamp an image and place the framelit over it,  the framelit stays in place!  I cannot wait to get my hands on this item.

GRAB YOUR GREETING PROMOTION: To celebrate the launch of the new catalog, Stampin' Up! is offering 25% off select greeting stamps: Sweet Essentials, Sassy Salutations and Petite Pairs now through  June 30.  This is a great deal on some now "old favorites" and you will want these sets!

WONDERLUST PHOTOPOLYMER STAMPS: You may have noticed that Photopolymer stamps are not in the new catalog.  But they are still available.  And Stampin' Up! introduced another new set today: Wonderlust.  This set is perfect for your adventurous side and is perfect for scrapbook pages, cards and more.  If you are keeping track at home, Stampin' Up! now offers five Photopolymer Stamp sets (Click on the name to get more information):

RIBBON SHARES: I mentioned the new chevron ribbon before.  It is beautiful and trendy and you will want this in every shade.  However, to buy a roll of each of the 12 shades will run you over $100 plus shipping and tax.  But join my ribbon share, and you will receive 2 yards of each of the 12 colors (24 yards total) of the 3/4" Chevron Ribbon for only $25 (includes tax and handling).  And the new In Color Ruffle Ribbon is also beautiful and you'll want some of that too, right?  In this share, you'll get 2 yards of each of the 5 colors of ribbon (10 yards total) for $10.50 (includes tax and handling).  If you don't live close to me, I will mail the shares anywhere in the United States for an additional $3.  I need the orders for the share by June 15.  Shares will be returned to you or mailed out by June 25.

CUSTOMER APPRECIATION/ALL YOU CAN STAMP BUFFET: Next to my Halloween class, this is my most popular class and it is by far the most fun!  Come for three hours and stamp as many cards as you can and enjoy a light lunch or dinner for $18.  You are guaranteed to go home with at least 8 cards (if you don't make that many, you can pick from my premade cards to get to 8) but most people go home with more than that.  This is also the first opportunity to shop from my stash of recently retired products and I'll have hundreds of premade cards and other samples to purchase too.  And if you place $40 order at the event, you will receive a package of Candy Dots from your choice of color families FREE!  I am offering this event twice:
  • Saturday, June 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Friday, June 21 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
That's all the news I have for today!  Check back next week for a look at more new products!

MDS Monday: Save 25% until June 15

Time for another random MDS Monday.  In case you missed the news a few weeks back, Stampin' Up! significantly dropped the price of MDS.  It is now only $19.95 and it includes a boat load of downloads for that low, low price.  And to make MDS even sweeter, from now until June 15, Stampin' Up! is offering 25% off select downloads and print products.  I am hoping I can take advantage of this sale to get a few things printed.  Everyone cross your fingers for me. :)

One of the albums I am working on right now celebrates my "Year of a Dozen Dreams."  Last year, I hit a certain milestone birthday and my fabulous family (well, mostly my wonderful husband) indulged me all year long with several special trips, experiences and gifts -- a dozen dreams.  This year my husband hits the same milestone and so far, I haven't been nearly as good about indulging him, but I have a few months to make it up to him.

For this album, I am using the Convention 2012 Photobook Template which is just one of the many templates that are on sale right now.  I love the chalkboard look of this template.
Convention 2012 Photobook Template -- Digital Download
Convention 2012 Photobook Template for My Digital Studio
I have significantly altered it, since I am documenting a year of indulgence instead of convention but that is one of the great things about these templates, you can change them to suit your needs.  Here is one of the spreads I've completed:

All elements from the Convention 2012 Photobook Template.
I will also be teaching a class on the basics of My Digital Studio on Saturday, May 25 at 10 a.m. at my house in Farmington if anyone is interested.  The class is free for anyone who has purchased My Digital Studio from me or $20 in downloads.  If you just want to come see what it's all about, it's $5.  Bring your laptop for some hands on experience.

Don't forget there is also a free trial version of My Digital Studio for you to try for 30 days.  Even if you have downloaded the trial for the old version, you can get another trial for the new version.

Sent with Love: Time is Running Out!

The Sent with Love promotion ends next Tuesday and I have not done nearly enough with this fun little bundle.  But I did manage to make a card for my class this weekend with it:

Colors: Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, and Whisper White.  Stamps: Sent with Love.  Big Shot: Cloudy Day Texture Impressions Embossing Folder.  Punches: Large Oval and Postage Stamp.  Accessories: Sent with Love Designer Series Paper and Whisper White Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon.

My friend Yapha Mason is going to recognize this card since I cased it from one that she made several weeks back and posted to her blog.  The layout is basically the same, but I changed up the stamps and the ribbon.  Thanks Yapha for the idea!

If you haven't had a chance to get this yet, don't miss out.  I was holding out a small bit of hope that it would be in the new catalog, but it is not.  So once the promotion is over on Tuesday, you will miss out on your chance to get this stamp set and paper.  Bundle them together with a package of Calypso Coral Baker's Twine and you'll save 15%.  You can see all the details on this flyer: (click on it to open up the PDF)

So what are you waiting for?  Click the shop now button and get it for yourself before it's too late.  And all orders that are placed by Saturday, April 27 by 5 p.m. MDT and use the hostess code ADTNXHXQ will be entered to win the Button Buddies set and an assortment of buttons from all the color families.
