Spring Fling!

On Friday I showed you a sneak peek of on of my Spring Fling Stampin' Buffet Projects and promised to share more with you today. All the projects and class details are now posted on the Spring Fling Stampin' Buffet page.

In addition to the Family Frame Insert I showed you on Friday, I am also offering this Spring-themed insert that can go in the same frame:
Colors: Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Basic Gray, and Whisper White.  Stamps: Pursuit of Happiness, Fabulous Phrases, Loving Thoughts. Big Shot: Serif Essentials Alphabet, Little Leaves, Fun Flowers, and Beautiful Wings Embosslit.  Punches: Itty Bitty Shapes, 5-Petal Flower, Boho Blossoms, Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer, Tiny Tags, Word Window, Curly Label, Modern Label and Extra-Large Oval.  Accessories:  Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, White Taffeta Ribbon, Twitterpated Buttons, Baja Breeze and Blushing Bride Pleated Satin Ribbon, Pearl Jewels, Baja Breeze 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, White Grosgrain Ribbon.
Each insert on it's own for you to make at my class is $10, or you can make them both together for $16.  This one is customizable too.  I used BLOOM on this sample, but you could spell out SPRING or MOTHER or other five or six letter word.  You can also choose to make the letters Basic Gray or Baja Breeze instead of Blushing Bride to make them stand out a bit more.

Can't come to the class but still want to make one of your own?  The cost for the kit with everything precut, punched and die cut and shipped to you is $15. (No frame or stamped images included).   If you want this one and the Family one together, the cost is $25.  I have created a KIT page here that even includes a Paypal option.  Check it out!

Bordering on Romance

Wasn't the Stampin' Addict Mini Occasions Blog Hop just fantastic?  So many great ideas from so many talented stampers.  If you missed it, don't worry.  Everyone's posts should be deep linked so that you can still follow it through and see everything. You can start here.  I promised today to tell you a little more detail about the first card I showed on the hop.

Colors: Pear Pizzazz, Basic Gray, Whisper White, Blushing Bride, and Riding Hood Red. Stamps: Bordering on Romance and Loving Thoughts.  Big Shot: Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies and Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. Punches: 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" circles.  Accessories: VersaMark Ink, Clear Embossing Powder, Blushing Bride 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon, Rhinestone Jewels.
First off, a little back ground on this card.  I made it for a swap that I signed up for using Bordering on Romance.  I really struggled to use this set.  It's beautiful and I've see a lot of fabulous things done with it, but I was lacking in mojo that day and just couldn't make anything work.  So I started doing more and more things with the card, like inking the Pear Pizzazz piece of card stock and putting embossing powder over the image after I colored it.  The final touch was wrapping the satin ribbon around the circle.  That's when I could finally be done with it.

I do LOVE this pleated satin ribbon.  It's so gorgeous and so easy to work with.  If you couldn't tell from my blog hop projects, I love using it to add a ruffle to things like I did here.  It comes in four colors: Pear Pizzazz, Riding Hood Red, Blushing Bride and Baja Breeze.  LOVE IT!!!

And I do love that stamp with the dotted line that mimics the shape of the Edgelit and embossing folder.  And as I said on the blog hop, Loving Thoughts has been my "go to" greeting stamp set since it arrive here about a month ago.

As promised here is another card using all the same things, but a different image from Bordering on Romance for the main image:

I hope your 2012 is off to a fantastic start and that you had a wonderful Christmas season too. I took a little break here again just because I got a little overwhelmed those last few days before school got out and then we had company for a few days and I've just been enjoying my family.  Now I'm back to it!  Come back on Wednesday to see a closer look at the card box from the hop.

Sneak Peek: Occasions Mini Catalog

Maybe it's a little too early for Valentines Day.  But I did get a little time to play this weekend with my new stamps, paper and Big Shot items and I wanted to share.  I'm so excited about all of it, but especially the new Big Shot Framelit Dies that we will be selling starting January 4. These wafer-thin dies make it easy to cut out pre-stamped images, just like punches.  And each set come with six different dies that layer on top of each other.  A papercrafter's dream come true!!!  Here's the first card I made with these this weekend:

Colors: Blushing Bride, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White.  Stamps: Take It to Heart and Loving Thoughts.  Big Shot: Hearts Collection Framelits.  Tools: Heat Gun.  Accessories: VersaMark Stamp Pad, Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder, Vintage Brads, Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon.
Take It to Heart and Loving Thoughts are both new stamp sets in the Mini Catalog too.  Take It to Heart coordinates perfectly with the Heart Framelits.  And I know I will be using Loving Thoughts A LOT.  It has 11 sentiments that are just perfect for almost any occasion. This started out as a card for a swap, but then I got the idea to put the ribbon ruffle around the larger heart and well, that's a lot of ribbon for an eight person swap.  It does give the card a little something special though. But now I still have a swap to design with this stamp set.

One of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is getting product free for meeting various goals.  I received Take It to Heart free for participating in Stampin' Up's! Worldwide Week of Workshops. I also received the Antique Brads for free for booking workshops during a book-a-thon.  And those weren't the only free things that came in this order.  I love this company!  If you'd like more information on joining Stampin' Up! please contact me, or visit my Demonstrator Website: paula.stampinup.net.
